I slightly discussed this idea with katayla  but I am SUPER bored procrastinating, so I present to you

A reading discussion group and book club for older children's/young adult books, beyond Twilight and Harry Potter.

Remember that series you were in to in 4th, 6th, maybe 8th grade? That you checked out ALL the books from the library of, that you would have totally participated in online fandom for? Also, since you were probably only getting your recommendations from teachers/librarians/parents/friends, you may have missed a few. Or do you want to get acquainted with other books for young adults besides Twilight and Harry Potter? Well, here is your chance to do it and discuss it and meet other people who like the same books as you.

This community will be a reading group in which we rediscover our old favorites and discover new ones that passed us by, but are not the ones that you hear about ALL the time. Examples include A Wrinkle In Time, The Dark is Rising, Call of the Wild, etc.

I promise we will read slowly! Tell your friends! Think of books you want to re-read or read for the first time!

I totally was not paying attention and heard people start screaming, then chanting.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry.

The Congressman I worked for is one of the hottest races in the country. Now to fret over that!

It is epic insanity here. OH BERKELEY I LUV YOU. Honking cars, masses of people in the streets at 10 pm at night, firecrackers going off, helicopters in the sky, and I think I hear a couple of car alarms going off.

ETA 2:
AND MCNERNEY IS AHEAD. YAY. He's a nice guy and is a specialist in Alternative energy, so we needz him.

I had been enjoying the Canadian drama series Da Vinci's Inquest, when suddenly I noticed a pattern in many of the guest stars or recurring characters--they had appeared on Battlestar Galactica. Due to the filming locations of these shows, it wasn't incredibly shocking, however, I did find another, even more interesting link. cylons!Collapse )
